The SpongeBob Squarepants Movie is another TV series that has been transferred onto the big screen. Our younger readers will know of him, but for those of you who don’t SpongeBob (Kenny) is a sponge living in a pineapple under the sea.

In this story his dreams of becoming the manager of the Krusty Krab diner are shattered when he is passed over for being "just a kid". He is now even more determined to prove he's got what it takes to do the job. SpongeBob’s chance arrives in the form of the evil Plankton (Lawrence) who wants to take over the undersea world.

This he does by stealing the crown of King Neptune (Tambor). So SpongeBob and his trusty friend Patrick Star (Fagerbakke) decide to retrieve it. But along the way they will be faced with strange sea monsters, Dennis the hit man (Baldwin), and the real world.

SpongeBob is backed-up though by Princess Mindy (Johansson), and turning up to help them is a real-life David Hasselhoff. With his courage, and their support, SpongeBob might just save the day.

The film is silly fun with some jokes thrown in for the adults. New characters have been added to the mix, but the Saturday-morning regulars like Squidward (Bumpass) and Mr. Krabs (Brown) are in there too.
