The long-awaited fifth film in the horror-cum-comedy Child’s Play series is here, and this time Chucky is causing even more mayhem than usual, with the movie’s catchy tag-line being ‘The family who slay together, stay together’.

Having married his sweetheart in their previous outing, living-dolls Chucky (Dourif) and Tiffany (Tilly) did the unthinkable and reproduced, and before they bit the bullet (as usual!) Glen (Boyd) was born. Now an orphan, Glen gets wind of the news that Hollywood producers are turning the story of his legendary parents’ exploits in to a big budget movie. Gentle Glen wouldn’t hurt a fly, but for some reason he decides to bring his parents back from the dead, and as soon as they return they decide to go on a murderous spree around Hollywood, much to Glen’s dismay.

Now back from the dead, Chucky can’t believe that Glen hasn’t inherited his father’s passion for bloodshed. Tiffany meanwhile can’t believe that the movie is going to star her all-time favourite actress, Jennifer Tilly – who will soon become the unwitting hostess to the murderous family, in more ways than one.

Other notable mentions in the cast include former S-Clubber Hannah Spearritt, whose role as Joan, a gracious but down-trodden PA to Tilly, and hip-hop star Redman, who plays the director of the movie-in-a-movie which Tilly is determined to star in. Both have gained some good reviews for their roles, so we’re sure to see more of them in future.
