Little Nicky (Adam Sandler - 'Big Daddy', 'The Wedding Singer'), is a shy and awkward guy with a penchant for heavy metal music and two bullies for older brothers, who is asked by his father (Harvey Keitel - 'The Piano', 'Pulp Fiction') to take over the family business.
The only problem with this inheritance is that his dad is Beezlebub and he has to rule over the underworld...

His first task is to go out into the world of the living in search of his older brothers (Rhys Ifans - 'Notting Hill' and Tom Lister - 'The Fifth Element'), who both left Hell after an argument with their father. They wanted to rule Hell; he didn't let them, so they decided to make a little Hell on Earth and move to New York.

In the process, they have disrupted the natural order of things, and caused The Devil to lose his powers, weaken and slowly die.
If Nicky fails to restore the balance between Good and Evil, the planet will be destroyed and with only a foul-mouthed, talking bulldog called Beefy as his guide, Nicky has a tricky job on his hands. Moving in with an unsuspecting room mate Todd (Alan Covert - 'Big Daddy', 'The Waterboy') and picking up two devil worshipping groupies, John (Jonathan Loughran) and Peter (Peter Dante) Nicky attempts to find, and bring back to Hell, his brothers, knowing that they have the power to possess any one and could therefore be hiding anywhere...
He's given a little light relief along the way, when he meets a mortal woman, Valerie (Patricia Arquette - 'Stigmata', 'Bringing Out The Dead'), begins to feel human emotions and falls in love. Closing in on his corrupt clan, Nicky is surprised to find the stakes have been raised because while possessing a city official, his brother has put a multi-million dollar price tag on Nicky's head and all of New York is after him.
In an explosive finale, a duel begins as Mr nice guy Nicky unleashes his newly found destructive powers and finally tricks his brothers into capture, but will he have time to get them back to Hell and save civilisation as we know it? Probably.
Directed by Steve Brill ('Heavyweights' and unfortunately the man who sold the idea for 'The Mighty Ducks' to Disney), 'Little Nicky' is a prime slice of fantasy - comedy, Sandler plays the shy and retiring Nicky perfectly and Harvey Keitel is as usual (even under the make up) brilliant. Watch out for Quentin Tarantino, who makes a bizarre cameo appearance as a blind preacher who freaks out whenever Nicky goes near him, and, in a totally over the top performance, rock legend Ozzy Osbourne.
