In ‘Blue Crush’, Kate Bosworth stars as one of the best female surfers in Hawaii as she tries to make a comeback after nearly dying in a surfing accident.

Amongst the youngsters who spend all their free time surfing, the beautiful Anne Marie (Bosworth) was one of the best. Until, that is, she was almost drowned trying to take on one of the biggest waves ever. That near fatal accident is still spoken about in hushed tones by the surfer dudes on the beach, even though it was three years ago.
Even though she suffered in the aftermath of her experience, nothing can get between Anne Marie and her board. Living in a beach shack with three roommates, including her rebellious younger sister Penny (Boorem), she is up before dawn every morning to ride the waves before heading off to work as a maid at a big local hotel. Working and surfing right alongside her are her best friends, Eden (Rodriguez) and Lena (Sanoe Lake), and she has begun preparing for the “Pipe Masters” surf competition – her redemption.

‘Blue Crush’ brings all the excitement of the surf to the big screen, together with the realism of the life that these fanatical sports minded youngster’s experience. Working in the lowest paid menial jobs just to be near to their favoured environment, the kids in this film seem to be living real lives. Michelle Rodriguez shines once more as the toughest of the group, although Miss Bosworth should also take a bow for a great performance. With some beautiful bikini-clad figures on display along with the amazing surfing action, ‘Blue Crush’ will appeal to a real cross-section of cinema audiences and should be big hit.
