A large pharmaceutical company is on the trail of the blood orchid. The plant is extraordinary: its flowers can extend the ability of living cells to reproduce themselves. Given this fact, scientists at the company have predicted that a pill based on this substance could guarantee eternal life. The difficulty is that the blood orchid is not in ready supply. It only blooms once a year and the season ends in two weeks. What is more, it can only be found in the jungles of Borneo.

An expedition is dispatched to retrieve the blood orchid, but to do so the group of scientists must journey down river by boat. It is dangerous to travel the rivers of Borneo even in the best of times, but in the rainy season, as it is now, it is extremely treacherous. Captain Bill Johnson (Messner) is wary of even attempting it, but the promise of a vast sum from the pharmaceutical company soon changes his mind.

Despite the odds, the group manage to find the blood orchid, but collecting it will be far harder than they imagine. Johnson and the scientists will have to fight their way past a group of anacondas, who inhabit the land directly around the plants, to get to it. To make matters even worse though, the snakes have been feeding off the orchid, making them longer, faster and smarter than any they have encountered before...
