Along Came Polly is a hilarious comedy starring Ben Stiller as risk-assessor Reuben Feffer, who spends his whole life trying to minimize every risk. So when he marries Lisa (Messing), a woman selected by him and his computer software as the perfect mate, he is shocked, when, on the first day of his honeymoon in St. Bart's, he discovers Lisa has dumped him to be with her smooth talking, Speedo wearing French scuba instructor.

Returning to New York alone, jilted and rejected, Reuben gets dragged out to an art opening by his best friend, has-been actor Sandy Lyle (Hoffman). Here, Reuben meets old school friend Polly Prince (Aniston), a disorganised free spirit who likes to live life on the edge.

Polly is a happy-go-lucky waitress who has rather a poor track record when it comes to commitment and romance. However, Reuben feels an attraction to Polly and takes the first risk of his life when he calls her and asks her on a date. As quickly as you can say "opposites attract," Reuben finds himself hurtling along a decidedly risky collision course to true love with Polly, experiencing dates with spicy food which upset his delicate stomach, a persistent and pesky pet ferret, salsa dancing and finally the sudden return of his wife to disrupt the budding romance.
