Set in a small town that seems to be getting smaller by the year, Paul (Schneider) has lived there all his life, never once leaving it. He lives a cosy life with his mum, works for his uncle and has a close group of friends. He is perfectly content with his life until the day his friend’s sister, Noel (Deschanel) returns home from boarding school. The pair are bowled over by one another, and fall for each other instantly. The highs they experience together are sometimes overshadowed by the lows, as they struggle to cope with their feelings.
