If you were hung out of your window by a Cuban loan Shark who you owed $100,000 dollars then chances are you’d do something to pay it back. Unfortunately for author Alex Sheldon (Luke Wilson), that’s exactly what he’s faced with. Oh, and he’s got just 30 days to pay it back or he’ll find himself dead! Not perfect timing to get writers block!

Fortunately, just in the nick of time, along comes court stenographer Emma Dinsmore (Kate Hudson) who works with him night and day to finish his barely started book. Emma challenges his ideas at every turn, and her initially irritating but undeniably intriguing input begins to influence Alex and his story. Soon, real life begins to imitate art, and art, to imitate life.

The romantic comedy brings a glow out of Hudson and in Alex & Emma she is just beautiful as well as funny. Must take after her mum, Goldie Hawn then!
