Paul Morse’s stag night party is going to be a night to remember – mainly because he wakes up the next morning with a beautiful stranger in his bed.

Bridegroom-to-be Paul (Lee) has agreed, reluctantly, to have a bachelor party, but on his one final night as a single man, he is determined not to do anything he can’t live with later – or tell his fiancée, Karen (Blair) about. That’s why it’s a pretty shocking discovery for him to wake up the next morning with the gorgeous Becky (Stiles) in bed next to him naked.
With the phone ringing in his ear, he tries to work out what happened to his resolve. Unfortunately he doesn’t have much time to clear things up. It’s his mother-in-law-to-be on the phone, to inform him that his intended is on her way over.

In a desperate attempt to clear any evidence of his slip-up (which he can’t even remember) he manages to get Becky out of the door and remove all the evidence before Karen arrives. Unfortunately when she gets there, Karen innocently asks him how the party went and Paul tells a little white lie to cover up what may, or may not, be the truth.
However, that lie turns into a bigger one, and soon Paul’s life descends into a series of farcical situations, which get even worse when he finds out that Becky is Karen’s cousin. As Paul enlists Becky’s help to keep Karen from learning the truth, he begins to feel that maybe he is about to make a commitment to the wrong person.

‘A Guy Thing’ is a reasonably funny comedy of errors with a great cast. Jason Lee takes the opportunity to expand on his appearances in films like ‘Vanilla Sky’ with this outing in which he gets to show off his comedic skills to a mainstream audience; Julia Stiles, who is a serious actress gets to relax into being funny; and Miss Blair manages to fill in much the same role as she did in ‘Legally Blonde’. If you enjoy romantic comedies, you’ll love this film.
